John is driven to improve trauma care and expand the reach of that care. His career in emergency medicine started at age 16 as a volunteer EMT. That experience now spans 37 years through being a professional Paramedic, Registered Nurse, and currently a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician. Dr. Pettini invented the initial Life Warmer technology as a result of an unmet clinical need with which he was challenged; early on and throughout his career. And now through the company he founded, Life Warmer, John is able to transform his concepts into an actual portfolio of trauma focused medical devices currently under development.
Rick’s multifaceted background provides the experience necessary to help optimize Life Warmer’s current and future endeavors. His early career experience with the Wall Street firm, Kidder Peabody, guided him to focus on companies applying advanced technology to clinical challenges. Because of that focus, he joined US Surgical for eight years, assisting with their rapid growth from $172 million to $1.1 billion during his tenure. To gain more product design and development experience, he spent the next several years helping to structure and manage the operations and growth of electronic design and contract manufacturing concerns. Next, he concentrated on early stage medical device turnaround situations. In 2009, he joined John as co-founder in Life Warmer.
Bob’s experience managing financial affairs during rapid expansion as well as handling mergers and acquisitions is a most complimentary match for Life Warmer’s growth vision. He has invested nearly forty years of his career in accounting and finance working with small-cap companies applying stability and foresight to their operations. Over half of his experience has been with pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical service companies. Most recently, he spent three years as VP Finance of ZS Pharma, a start-up biopharma company that sold to Astra Zeneca in 2015. Just prior to that, he served as CFO of a roll-up medical services company for three years through their acquisition and transition by a PE-backed firm. Bob also spent twelve years as CFO of Carrington Laboratories/Delsite, a publicly traded biopharma company. Bob has provided consultation on the financial affairs of Life Warmer since 2009.
Shant’s experience in multidisciplinary fields supports Life Warmer’s vision to simplify innovative technologies in trauma care. His passion to improve direct patient care guided him to gain a background in chemistry, biomaterials, and biomedical engineering. From fundamental to application-focused medical research and development, he has coordinated efforts of scientists and engineers from various disciplines. He joined Life Warmer in 2016.
